FlexDrive AMR has appeared at events before — however, Siemens Transform 2026 marked something genuinely new. For the first time, we demonstrated FlexDrive as part of a complete, working automation ecosystem. On 15–16 July at Manchester Central, our Small Drive Platform and Medium Drive Platform ran live alongside FlexCell. As a result, visitors could see both platforms operating in front of manufacturers and engineers from across the industry. A real-world system, running in real time, in the context it was built for.

What We Demonstrated

We showcased two core platforms across the two-day event. First, the Small Drive Platform handles payloads up to 1,000kg with a 2,000kg towing capacity. It operates at 2.2m/s at full load and furthermore supports over 30 configurations — from scissor lifts and roller beds to towing and custom applications. In addition, the Medium Drive Platform delivers up to 2,500kg payload and 4,500kg towing capacity. It also offers omnidirectional movement and over 50 configurations for complex manufacturing and logistics environments. Throughout both days, both platforms ran continuously, autonomously feeding processes within FlexCell — our modular automation cell that lets manufacturers start with a single validation cell and scale into full production without costly rebuilds. Together, therefore, FlexDrive and FlexCell showed visitors exactly what integrated AMR deployment looks like in practice.

Built in Partnership with Siemens

Every FlexDrive vehicle runs Siemens SIMOVE as its core control system. Moreover, we pre-validate all deployments through Technomatix Plant Simulation before a single vehicle turns a wheel on site. Our connectivity also runs on Siemens hardware, supporting WiFi and 5G networks that work within existing factory infrastructure. As a Siemens Solution Partner for Automation Drives, consequently, Siemens Transform gave us the ideal stage to bring that partnership to life — a UK-manufactured AMR running to global standards, live, alongside the most forward-thinking manufacturers in the industry.

A New Chapter for FlexDrive

Watching FlexDrive move autonomously within a connected ecosystem changes the conversation. Indeed, it turns automation from a concept into something tangible — something visitors could stand in front of and understand. Furthermore, FlexDrive scales from 600kg to 20,000kg, adapts to your operation, and delivers without compromise. Ultimately, Siemens Transform 2026 was just the beginning.

Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) are a self-navigating robotic system designed to transport materials within a facility without needing fixed infrastructure like magnetic strips, tracks, or guide wires. Using onboard sensors, mapping software, and obstacle detection and avoidance, AMRs understand their environment, make real-time decisions, and can dynamically adjust their routes.

AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) differ from AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) in how they move and respond to their environment.

Whilst AGVs follow fixed routes using magnetic tapes, cores, or wires, AMRs navigate freely using onboard sensors and real time mapping. This allows AMRs to avoid obstacles, adapt to layout changes, and operate in dynamic, collaborative human environments.

Unlike AGVs, which stop when their path is blocked, AMRs can reroute themselves automatically. FlexDrive AMRs although are technically AMRs, with the modular approach we have taken to allow you to completely customise your vehicle each FlexDrive AMR can be configured as an AGV with traditional tape navigation or data matrix codes.

FlexDrive AMRs are suitable for use in warehouses, distribution centres, and manufacturing facilities. They work well in spaces that already have people, equipment, and changing layouts, adapting to the environment without needing fixed paths or major infrastructure changes.
FlexDrive AMRs are supported by three levels of aftercare support. We provide remote support and resources for simple problem resolutions, on-site servicing, or full 24/7 cover with fast repairs and replacements.

FlexDrive AMRs can be deployed in a short time frame. Through our rigorous project deployment process, pre validation and testing ensure when FlexDrive AMRs and their applications arrive on site with minimal setup they are ready to work.

You as the end user are key to every deployment, so regular communication and collaboration is maintained to ensure we meet your requirements and expectations. Through our ability to simulate all our deployments we reduce the set-up time on site.

FlexDrive AMRs can operate in many industries from Automotive, Intralogistics, Material handling, MedTech and more. They fulfil many roles within each sector, from intralogistics, material or product handling to dynamic mobile platforms down an assembly line or process.
